University Experience

The British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) was founded in Brighton in 2001 as the Brighton Institute of Modern Music. The Institute was established in Dublin in 2011.

BIMM is a group of eight independent colleges that offer creative education in Dublin, Brighton, Berlin, Hamburg, London, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester. Over 7,000 students study across the locations.

Some famous alumni include George Ezra, Natasha Bent and Fontaines D.C.

This education provider encourages creative freedom, provides industry experience and fosters a community.

Unrivalled industry connections, excellent lecturers and specialist courses all characterise BIMM. From Songwriting to Electronic Music to Music Business, the Institute helps turn passions into careers.

BIMM’s Student Support Team helps students with their study skills, mental health and student life. They also offer confidential support and guidance. 

Fostering a sense of community is of key importance at BIMM. Student are continuously encouraged to give suggestions for events, clubs and societies. Some of its student-led associations include: five-a- side football tournaments, vinyl club, tutors vs. students quiz night and skateboarding society. 

International Students are greatly supported. The International Team can answer any questions or queries prior to arrival. The Student Ambassador team picks up new students at the airport and help with the adaptation process.

Location

The BIMM Institute Dublin, both campus are situated in the middle of Dublin’s city centre, the Liberties, within walking distance of well serviced bus stops and train routes. Within minutes walk of their campuses you will discover a host of parks like the Phoenix Park, St. Stephen’s Green, and Iveagh Gardens as well as cafes, restaurants and bars.

Our residences The Loom and Binary Hub are perfect for those studying at BIMM. Within 10 mins walking distance, aparto offers a range of modern ensuite rooms and large common spaces.

    Introducing our newest state-of-the-art student accommodation, opening in September 2021. The Loom will be home to 166 students who will be surrounded by the buzz of what the city has to offer with vibrant local cafes and places to eat and the city centre. Students will  enjoy our study pods, three courtyards, outdoor ping pong table, cinema room, gym and so many other spaces!

    Our largest student residence is home to 471 students who are supported by our friendly and experienced staff. Students can enjoy the best of bold worlds from study life to social life – with an exciting range of events.
