The recent lockdowns have undoubtedly been tough on everyone, so we wanted to treat our residents as certain restrictions were eased.

Monday 12th April marked the day of a change in guidelines, including the opening of outdoor dining in England, with Scotland following on Monday 26th April.

We booked in some incredible suppliers to set up and serve delicious food from pizzas, Mexican and BBQ food, all whilst maintaining covid safety procedures.

It really was a moment we will never forget to see our residents finally being able to be outside and engage with one another and enjoy a break from exam revision.

Cambridge

At our site in Cambridge, The Cam Foundry, we had the amazing Antonios Pizza join us for the afternoon to provide some delicious pizzas. They served over 134 pizzas. The most popular pizza was the ‘Lucana’ which had pepperoni, San Marzano tomatoes, Fior Di Latte mozzarella, parmesan, Italian spicy salami, fresh basil and EVO oil. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Lancaster

Caton Court in Lancaster had an amazing food truck by El Kantina that was the most delicious Mexican Street food. Over 100 portions were served. Of course the Mojito Lime pulled chicken giant taco was in high demand, this featured rice, house slaw and fresh salad, sounds pretty good!

Reading

Queens Court in Reading was catered by Smokey Goucho, providing some much-needed BBQ boxes for our residents there. They served over 113 dishes. The meat boxes with BBQ chicken and beef served with grilled vegetables, roast potatoes and salad went down a treat with our Queens Court residents.

Kingston

Arbury Court in Kingston had a delicious take on the classic burger truck. They served over 133 portions of burgers and chips. The most popular dish served was the Sticky BBQ pulled pork bun (which would definitely be our favourite too!)

Our events have always been at the heart of aparto. We have put on an extremely in-depth and varied events and experience plan virtually while we were in lockdown and can't wait to do some more face to face events as restrictions ease. We hope this is the beginning of things returning to normal and being able to contribute to our residents university experience in the most positive way possible.

We will still be running our virtual events programme, with a mixture of fitness classes, cooking and macrame. Check out the recent action on our Instagram channel.
