BRISTOL CREATIVES: ENTER THE APARTO HOARDING COMPETITION FOR A CHANCE TO WIN £2000*

At aparto, we are dedicated to fostering a sense of community and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of each new city we establish ourselves in. Our brand-new residence opening in September 2025, aparto Bristol Brigg Point will be no exception.

aparto and Hybr join forces to launch the aparto Bristol Brigg Point Student Artwork Competition, celebrating the vibrant spirit of Bristol. 

We are inviting students to design the aparto hoarding that captures the essence of student community creation, Bristol's rich cultural heritage, its dynamic arts and history. The artwork submitted should tell a story of connection, creativity, and the unique character of Bristol.

Competition Guidelines
aparto Student Hoarding Artwork Competition

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to all students currently enrolled in educational institutions within Bristol.
  • Participants must be aged 18 and above and provide a valid student ID.
  • Group submissions are welcome, with a maximum of three students per group.

Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions must be original works created specifically for this hoarding competition - in landscape format.
  • Digital submissions should be in high-resolution JPEG or PNG format, videos can be shared, photographs.
  • Submissions must include the participant's name, contact information, and a brief description of the artwork (max 200 words).

Judging Criteria

Our esteemed panel of judges will evaluate entries based on the following criteria:

  1. Creativity and Originality: How unique and innovative is the artwork?
  2. Relevance to Themes: How well does the artwork reflect aparto, community creation and Bristol's culture, arts, and heritage?
  3. Artistic Skill: Overall quality and technique.
  4. Impact and Message: The emotional and conceptual impact of the artwork.

The Prize

  • £2000 University Bursary 
  • Give the winners the chance to install their work on a large-scale installation in aparto Bristol Brigg Point Bristol, leaving a legacy of their work in our residence
  • Feature in aparto's Marketing Materials and digital campaigns.
  • Artwork will feature in printed media coverage and social media.
  • These prizes not only reward emerging student talent but also encourage further development, community involvement, and cultural engagement, aligning perfectly with aparto’s ethos. aparto will cover costs of any materials required for the winning installation piece.
  • The prize will be issued once artwork is installed and complete.

Specific Requirements

  1. Artworks must prominently feature elements of Bristol’s rich cultural heritage, community spirit, and artistic landscape – add in a little hint of aparto brand for good measure in some way

  2. Use of any offensive or inappropriate content will result in immediate disqualification.

  3. Participants must retain the original file or a high-resolution scan of their work, as winners may be required to provide higher-quality images for reproduction.

1. We encourage participants to visit historical landmarks, community centers, and cultural hotspots in Bristol for inspiration.

 

2. Collaborative entries are welcome; the prize will be shared among the group members.

 

3. Think innovation, outside the box and use diverse mediums and styles to represent the themes.
